Trinidad is the home of Patrick's Point State Park, a nature lover's dream where fabulous old growth redwoods are complemented by spruce, hemlock, pine, fir and red alder. Lush meadows, wild flowers and ferns are everywhere. Hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, rafting and fishing are enjoyed throughout the area.

Trinidad Vista is less than a half hour drive from Redwood National Park, home of world famous redwood groves including Lady Bird Johnson Grove, Tall Trees Grove and Lost Man Creek. This park, along with adjacent California State Parks, offers some of the world's best hiking trails, including an amazing trail up a creek bed from the beach into a timeless canyon. Fern Canyon, part of Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park is a steep, narrow canyon, covered with thick, green, luxurious ferns. Roosevelt elk are commonly seen grazing in the coastal prairies of these parks.
